About PVP

Chemistry of Natural Products
While in 80's, nature awareness was growing throughout the world, PVP was already working with this idea, for plants have always been its favorite raw materials.
Since its foundation in 1962, PVP is dedicated to the extraction of pharmaceutical active ingredientes obtained from plants species found in the North and Northeast regions of Brazil, including the Amazon rainforest, the habitat of the planet's largest variety of plants. For this reason, PVP has collected its raw material in an orderly manner, considering the spontaneous replacement offered by nature.
The first products developed by PVP were obtained from the Carnauba (Copernicia prunifera). Later on, the company starded extracting plant products from important native species of the Brazilian flora, including, besides the Carnauba, the Jaborandi (Pilocarpus microphyllus), the Fava d'Anta (Dimorphandra mollis), the Mucuna Bean (Stizolobium deeringeanum) and the Pau d'Arco or Ipê Roxo (Tabebuia avellanedae), among others.
Based on this unique work with Brazilian plants, PVP has produced intermediates and special ingredients, intended not only for the pharmaceutical industry, but also for companies of the food and cosmetic sectors.
